Filmed  in and around New Jersey between 1999 and 2000, BLOOD FOR THE MUSE tells the story of Josh (Josh Robinson), a young man disillusioned with life and faith. An aspiring musician, Josh works at a video store by day, but by night, Josh is a cold-blooded serial killer preying on call girls. He believes that each murder brings him a step closer to summoning the muse of tragedy, Melpomene.  An old vagabond (Terry M. West) becomes a twisted spiritual guide to Josh, having heard Melpomene's song, at the sake of his family and sanity, many years before. Josh continues his bloody rampage, inching ever closer to hearing the song of his dark muse, until he meets Sara (Tina Krause). Sara, a college student new to Josh's neighborhood, strikes an instant friendship with the psychotic loner. Soon, their friendship develops into a romance, and Josh turns his back on the dark muse. He is then tormented by nightmares, and Josh realizes the monumental sacrifice Melpomene calls for. But is it one he can make? BLOOD FOR THE MUSE has been heralded as "one of the best micro-budget horror films to come around" (horrorexpress.com) and features a who's who of Scream Queens including Tina Krause (Witchhouse 3), Tammy Parks (Attack of the 50 Foot Centerfold), Ruby LaRocca (Flesh for the Beast), Deana Demko (The Ironbound Vampire) and Pamela Sutch (Psycho Sisters).
SYNOPSIS
PRAISE
"In the cut-throat world of the low budget jungle, Blood for the Muse emerges as a worthy title to be seen on the video shop shelves."- theFilmAsylum.com
"Terry M. West based this on his 1998 comic book series and has come up with a stunning vision that works extremely well thanks to the cynical narration, the fact it keeps up an unsettling tone for almost the entire running time, above average acting by the amateur cast, some disturbing moments and a nice twist finish."-TheVideoGraveyard.com
"Blood for the Muse is a sensational indie film from director Terry West inspired by the comic book of the same name. It is a beautiful looking black and white effort that excels on many levels. It has good camerawork and editing, a fantastic thought-provoking script that provides a few good shocks and a great cast."-Secretscrolldigest.com
"Mr. West's artful Blood for the Muse. Sort of an earnest, B&W spin on BloodFeast."
-DVDTalk.com
"Terry West also displays a fine knack for composition, most of the camera shots are quite exquisite. The sets designs are cool too, ranging from a nifty comic/video store to the mist enshrouded realms of the Muse herself that look like a Goth’s fantasy. The sacrificial ritual scenes also seem authentic."-Unrated Magazine
"Blood for the Muse would be more accurately filed under the demented-killer genre... the gritty visual style and dark chunks of dialogue in this one made me think that maybe West missed his true calling as a filmmaker. Good stuff, indeed!"-DigitallyObsessed.com
"...an impressive script with great flowing dialogue, good pacing and solid performances from start to finish and there's even some well perceived atmospherics and nice bloody effects sequences too... it's one of the more enjoyable low budget features I've seen... Blood For The Muse is a real treat of genre viewing fun that should satisfy most fans of the low budget genre scene..."-Sexgoremutants.co.uk
"...it's bloody, compelling, and well acted..."-Sleazegrinder.com

"BLOOD FOR THE MUSE has a great deal going for it, the most important of which is quality filmmaking. The end result is like a Texas tornado. It draws you in, sweeps you along for a nightmarish ride, and spits you back out battered and bruised. You couldn't ask for more."
